Paint Protection Film (Clear Bra)

Why do you need paint protection film?+

It helps keep your paint looking great, significantly reduces paint chips and bug damage, and protects your investment — saving you money on costly repaints down the road.

What is paint protection film?+

3M Paint Protection Film is a durable, high-grade, colorless urethane film applied to high-impact areas of your vehicle that take the brunt of damaging road debris. It's transparent and nearly invisible, and does not alter your vehicle's looks.

Does paint protection film resist yellowing?+

Yes. The film is constructed of thermoplastic urethane covered by a clear coat layer. Both layers contain UV protectants that counteract the harmful ultraviolet rays that cause yellowing.

Will the film harm the painted surface when removed?+

If the film is properly applied to a fully cured painted vehicle, it can be removed — usually in one piece — without damaging the paint surface beneath.

What are signs of a poorly installed clear bra?+

Stretch marks where the film is stretched past its threshold, excessive gaps at body edges due to poor pattern design or misalignment, and air or water bubbles that don't go away due to improper squeegee technique or dust under the film.

Can PPF be applied over a touched-up vehicle?+

Any repainted surfaces should be professionally painted and fully cured before applying PPF. Tube touch-up paint covered with PPF may peel off when the film is later removed.

How is paint protection film maintained?+

Avoid washing the vehicle for 3–4 days after install so the film cures. After that, regular washing presents no problem and no special care is needed.

Can I use wax over paint protection film?+

Yes. Some wax may build up along the film edges and can easily be wiped off with a soft cloth once dry. Do not use waxes containing dyes or waxes not recommended for urethanes. Avoid abrasive polishes and rubbing compounds.

What products do you recommend for maintaining PPF?+

We recommend a plastic cleaner called Plexus, used after washing, to keep the film shiny and dust free.

What makes your paint protection films the best?+

Technicians trained and certified by 3M & XPEL, the best films available (3M Scotchgard Paint Protection Film & XPEL), the best warranties (5-year 3M, 10-year XPEL), computer-designed kits for exact fit, and over 60,000 kits available.

Why have professionals install it?+

We're a certified applicator that can help you choose which vehicle components benefit most from PPF, and we have the know-how to install the film to exact factory specifications. The result looks better and lasts longer.

Window Tinting

How long is my window film warrantied for?+

In most cases, your new 3M Window Film carries a lifetime warranty against peeling, cracking, bubbling and delamination. Commercial Window Films carry a 15-year lifetime warranty.

Do I have to tint my house dark to block heat?+

No. 3M Prestige is nearly invisible and blocks 97.7% of infrared heat — the heat you can actually feel.

Is tinting my vehicle legal?+

Each state has its own tinting laws. We'll educate you on every option so you can make the best decision for your needs while staying compliant.

Will tinting my vehicle keep it cooler?+

Yes. Our Color Stable and Crystalline films block up to 97% of infrared heat. Charleston heat can make leather seats feel like they're on fire — we'll help you pick the perfect film to keep your car cool, looking great, and protected from UV.

How long does a vehicle tint job take?+

Most vehicles are completed in 2–3 hours. Larger or more complex vehicles may take longer — call or email for a specific estimate.

Does the film go on the inside or outside of my windows?+

In most cases the film is applied to the inside so the material is protected from the elements. Our Bray windshield film is an exterior application designed to protect your factory windshield from sand pitting and rock chips. Some commercial and residential applications also require exterior installation.

What is the legal window tint in South Carolina?+

SC law requires at least 27% VLT (Visible Light Transmission) on front side windows, rear side windows and back windows for passenger vehicles. We always quote SC-legal options.

Will tinting damage my defroster lines?+

No — our installers are trained to install over rear defrosters without damaging the lines.

What's the difference between dyed, carbon and ceramic tint?+

Dyed is the most affordable and blocks light but minimal heat. Carbon blocks more heat and won't fade. Ceramic is top tier — maximum heat & UV rejection without interfering with electronics.

Ceramic Coatings

How long does it take to ceramic coat my car?+

Depending on the condition of the vehicle, anywhere from 2–5 days.

How often should I wash my car after coating?+

We recommend washing every two weeks with our ONR polymer wash.

Will ceramic coatings prevent my paint from scratching?+

Ceramic coatings reduce micro-scratches that come from cleaning your car. If you want protection from impact scratches, look at our paint protection films.

How much does ceramic coating cost?+

Coatings range from $700 for a 2-year package to $2,500+ for full multi-layer Modesta or Gtechniq applications including paint correction.

Vehicle Wraps

What is a car wrap?+

Wrapping is the practice of partially or completely covering a vehicle with vinyl film. It's used to turn vehicles into mobile billboards or to change the color, texture and finish of personal vehicles.

How do we get started?+

First we need to see you and your car. We'll go over available colors and product warranties, then complete a vehicle assessment to set realistic expectations.

How long does a wrap take?+

Most wraps take about one to two weeks to complete. Timing varies depending on coverage and prep work.

Will the wrap go into door jambs and hood space?+

Every job is different. Some customers want exterior only, others want full coverage. We'll go over every option in your consultation.

How long does a wrap last?+

Material warranties typically run 1–3 years; cast vinyl can last 4–7 years. Garage-kept vehicles last significantly longer than ones stored outside. Adding a ceramic coating extends life considerably.

What are the pros of wrapping a car?+

Wraps generate 30k–70k daily views (per TAB studies), last 3–5 years, protect the original paint without affecting resale, are cleanly removable and panel-level repairable, and offer exclusive (non-shared) advertising space.

How durable are vehicle wraps?+

Wraps are printed on cast or calendered vinyl. Cast vinyl is best for long-term use (4–7 years); calendered is best for short-term or flat surface wraps (3–5 years).

What are the different types of wraps?+

Complete wraps cover the entire vehicle including window perfs. Half wraps cover the sides and rear. Window-graphics-only and vinyl lettering/spot graphics are simpler, lower-cost options.

Detailing

Will shampooing my carpets get all the stains out?+

It depends. Stains set for 6+ months may not come out fully — we can usually improve them but not always remove them completely.

What goes into a Full Detail?+

A full detail usually takes an entire day to complete and covers interior shampoo, exterior polymer wash and wax, leather, glass, wheels and trim.

What goes into an Express Detail?+

An express detail takes about 5 hours and hits the essentials inside and out.

Will a full detail fix my paint?+

No — full details do not include paint correction. Our polymer wash and wax finish will make the paint shinier, but for true defect removal you'll want paint correction or a ceramic coating.
